Setshot has partnered with Semba on the release of a new music video for his song "Open Book". It is the finale in a series of three videos produced by Setshot in collaboration with Semba for his debut album, Open Book, released on 3 August 2023.
Directed by Callum Haslam, the "Open Book" music video follows Semba’s character in a continuation of "Pieces". He wakes up in a scene that references "Always Something", arranges a meeting with a friend and performs to the lyrics under a sunny sky. Semba describes the storyline: "The protagonist sheds his skin". The video explores themes of self-realisation and identity through the representation of Semba's character having found creative freedom after the repetition of "Always Something" and the searching of "Pieces". It marks the fouth collaboration for Haslam and Semba who previously worked on the music video for Semba’s “OMW” in 2022 and "Always Something" and "Pieces" earlier in 2023.
The release of "Pieces" is another milestone in Semba's burgeoning career. The song is characterised by its optimistic undertone and Semba's unique performance style. The music video's launch is expected to further propel Semba into the spotlight, solidifying his position as a rising prospect in the Australian hip hop scene.
The “Open Book" music video can be viewed on Semba's official YouTube channel. It is available for streaming as part of his Open Book album.
