Setshot has partnered with Semba on the release of a new music video for his song "Pieces". It is the second in a series of three videos produced by Setshot in collaboration with Semba for his upcoming album, Open Book, to be released later this month.
Directed by Callum Haslam, the "Pieces" music video follows Semba’s character as he mistakenly stumbles across shreds of a picture from his childhood. He wanders down city streets and through an abandoned house as he searches. Semba describes the storyline: "The protagonist is escaping his existence" as "his self destruction leads him to dark and empty places". It explores themes of self-discovery and identity through the representation of Semba's character while "he tries to ignore the pieces of who he was; he wants to be someone else". It marks the third collaboration for Haslam and Semba who previously worked on the music video for Semba’s “OMW” in 2022 and "Always Something" earlier in 2023.
The release of "Pieces" is another milestone in Semba's burgeoning career. The song is characterised by its dark yet persevering undertone and Semba's unique performance style. The music video's launch is expected to further propel Semba into the spotlight, solidifying his position as a rising prospect in the Australian hip hop scene.
The “Pieces" music video can be viewed on Semba's official YouTube channel. It will be available for streaming on music platforms when Open Book is released. Be on the look out for the third and final music video in the series which is set to premiere next week.
