Setshot starts production on "CEO" music video with Jab

Setshot is excited to announce the commencement of production on the highly-anticipated "CEO" music video by rapper Jab. After months of planning, the first scenes have been filmed with further shoots to take place over the following few weeks. “CEO” has been the most popular song from Jab’s 2022 extended play, REAL SHIT, with over 138,000 plays on Spotify and 25,000 combined views on YouTube as of writing.

Directed by Callum Haslam, the “CEO” music video will be the second collaboration between Jab and Haslam. They previously produced the music video for Jab’s song “SPEAK THRU SPEAKERS” which was filmed on location in London. Jab has long expressed a desire to film a video for “CEO” but it only became possible after extensive consultation and planning by Setshot.

“CEO” will see a visualisation of Jab’s lyrical content and primarily depict him as the head of a business meeting. Additional scenes will showcase Jab in a studio, outside a petrol station and undergoing a police road check. The song’s lyrical content is complete with references which allow for visual representation that aligns with the lively energy of the song. Setshot has proven its ability to fuse captivating visuals with the artistic intentions of musicians and this collaboration with Jab will be no exception.

The first day of filming took place at 115kws in an office meeting room with actors playing the role of Jab’s associates. Jab reflected on the shoot: “Today we hired out this lovely office space on King William Street. We filmed a video for my song “CEO”. We had it all mapped out, planned out and now we’re here and it all went well. Went very smooth. Had all the boys at the table dressed up in suits. They had their sunnies on and, yeah, it went a lot better than expected all thanks to Callum Haslam behind me.”

“A whole lot of stuff that we’re going to put together and it’s going to come together as one massive video clip,” stated Jab. “The best thing about working with Setshot is you plan your days out. You know, you’re not [not] knowing what to do. You got one day you’re here filming this shot and then the next day you’re here doing a different thing. It’s the one company you should be going for if you’re living in Australia and you want to get some good film out.”

When asked about how the first day of filming went, Jab responded: “I think there’s no problems or complaints about today. I think we did everything we needed to do. As I said, Setshot; Callum behind the camera - he’s very organised. He sets everything out. He sets the days out and what we need to do: where we need to film [and] who needs to be there. He knows what he’s doing. So, how do I think the day went? I think it couldn’t have been better.”

"We are excited to be working with Jab on the “CEO” music video," said Callum Haslam, Director of Setshot. “I have wanted to make a video to this song for a long time and I believe it will be a hit. We have come up with some creative ideas that will result in a visually captivating production.”

Look forward to updates and behind-the-scenes content as Setshot and Jab continue on production of the “CEO” music video.
